Microneedling + Exosomes: The Science, the Benefits, and Why We Pair Vitti Pure with Your Treatment

What is microneedling—and why does it work?
Microneedling (collagen-induction therapy) uses ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This triggers a wound-healing cascade that up-regulates growth factors and remodels dermal collagen and extracellular matrix—improving texture, fine lines, scars, and tone with minimal downtime and across all skin tones. Recent reviews document increases in collagen types I/III (and VII in scars) and strong outcomes for acne scarring and texture with a favorable safety profile. PMC+2MDPI+2
Why pair microneedling with exosomes?
Exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles that cells use to communicate; they carry proteins, lipids, and RNA that can influence healing and inflammation. In aesthetics, applying stem-cell–derived exosomes topically after microneedling may enhance recovery and cosmetic outcomes by delivering these signals directly through freshly created micro-channels. Early clinical literature suggests benefits for wrinkles, pores, tone/texture, and post-procedure healing:
Reviews and pilot trials report improvements in wrinkles, pores, evenness, and oiliness with topical exosome formulations. PMC
A controlled clinical study of microneedling with stem-cell–derived exosomes found the combo safe and effective for reducing facial pores and enhancing texture. PMC
In a randomized study, adipose-MSC exosomes performed comparably to PRP for rejuvenation outcomes, with histology showing increased collagen I and glycosaminoglycans. PubMed
Bottom line: Microneedling opens the door; exosomes may carry more of the “instructions” your skin uses to rebuild—potentially smoothing, brightening, and speeding recovery compared with microneedling alone. PMC+1
Why we use Vitti Pure exosomes
We pair our microneedling with Vitti Pure, supplied by Vitti Labs—an AATB-accredited manufacturer of human cellular/tissue-based products (HCT/Ps). Our choice is based on sourcing standards and manufacturing controls that prioritize consistency and bio-ethical handling. (Note: manufacturer information; not a medical claim.) Vitti Labs+1
What results can you expect?
Most patients notice a healthier glow within a week, with progressive improvements in texture, pores, and fine lines over 4–12 weeks as collagen remodels. A series (typically 3–4 sessions) yields the best results, with maintenance treatments 1–2×/year. Evidence supports microneedling for scars, dyschromia, lines, and overall texture; adjunctive topicals—including exosomes—often enhance outcomes versus microneedling alone. PMC+1
Safety & downtime
Expect 24–72 hours of redness/roughness. Compared to lasers and deep peels, microneedling carries lower risks of dyspigmentation in darker skin tones when properly performed. We provide sterile technique, tailored depths, and a gentle aftercare plan to protect your skin barrier. PMC
Important regulatory note (transparency you can trust)
In the United States, no exosome products are FDA-approved for treating diseases or conditions; the FDA has issued consumer alerts and safety notices about unapproved exosome products. Our exosome use is topical/cosmetic as an adjunct to microneedling for skin appearance and recovery—not to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease—and is performed under medical supervision. U.S. Food and Drug Administration+1Exosomes remain an evolving area of research in dermatology; while early data are promising, larger standardized trials are still needed. PMC

Who is a good candidate?
Concerns: acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, crepey texture, uneven tone.
Skin tones: all Fitzpatrick types, with parameters individualized for safety.
Not ideal if pregnant, breastfeeding, immunocompromised, or with active infections—our clinicians will review your history first. American Academy of Dermatology
What a typical session looks like

Aftercare: gentle cleanse, moisturize, avoid actives/sauna/excess sun for 72 hours; daily SPF thereafter. American Academy of Dermatology
Frequently asked
How does this compare with PRP?PRP and exosomes both deliver signaling factors that can support collagen remodeling. A 2025 trial found ASC-exosomes and PRP produced similar improvements, with exosomes eliminating the need for a blood draw. PubMed
How many treatments will I need? Most plans start with 3–4 sessions, ~4–6 weeks apart, then maintenance—tailored at consultation based on goals and skin biology. PMC
